Place the distributor on the front of the engine, gently push it in place & slowly turn the distributor body until you feel the tang slip into the slot. Rotate the distributor body until the bolt holes line up. Hand tighten the two bolts until the distributor body is flush with the timing gear cover.

Reason Im asking, the order my distributor is wired, it seems #3 is getting fire before my #4. I know the firing order is 1-2-4-3. If this holds true, will my tractor run if #3 and #4 are reversed? Can someone help me with the firing order for my 9N Ford, and also the wire positions on the distributor cap (if read as a clock, to the 1 o'clock position, to the 4 o'clock position, to the 7 o'clock position and the 10 o'clock position).
