The TSO slide diameter is constant as you get closer to the frame and requires a plate. Unless another solution has been thought up, I believe the TSO will require a plate to mount an SRO. Interestingly the TS2 models have the triangle shaped slide similar to the shadow 2, so they may be capable of direct mount.

I actually ended up finding an optics ready version of the Shadow 2, and in the hayday of the covidness I was able to sell the original Shadow 2 (non-optics ready) for what I paid. The difference came out to $100-ish, and I preferred a factory cut! If the platform you're using can be purchased optics ready, I recommend it!CZC plates have thicker 8-32 screws and have a lesser chance of stripping than thinner optic mounting screws. This Cajun milled Shadow 2 slide below was $125 charge to fix. Had that screw got stripped in a plate, simply replacing that plate wouldve put me 80 bucks ahead.
