Oct 19, 2008 · According to the manual, the status light should be lit in either stove or room temp mode unless the mode dial is not within the off position band. I was able to run the stove in stove temp mode and eventually, after adjusting the temperature dial, was able to get it back to room temp mode. I'm using the probe that came with the stove. It's in a black jacket with a black caped end. I noticed it has a very small tear in the end, but I don't know if it was there to start with or not.
