anyway, the flag itself has a lifetime of about 45 days and it will lower over time. every 5 days though, the flag will refresh the lifetime of items in a 60m radius. this refresh doesn't help for items with a less than 5 day lifetime, which is basically everything except bases/storage. Anyway, flags refresh every five days so any items with a lifetime less than 5 days will never get refreshed. edit globals.xml. change FlagRefreshFrequency to the number of seconds you want it to refresh. Look in types.xml for the range, but 14400 (4 hours) will cover most items. Things like fences, barrels, and deployed tents have a lifespan of 45 days without a flag, but a flag will extend the life to 90 days without someone re-raising the flag. Normal items on the ground usually despawn pretty quick, like 6 hours or something like that.
