Shooting both, the EC9 is much more comfortable to fire, and the sights are easier to use than those on my 1st gen LCP. If you are limited to pocket carry, the LCP is much easier.

Well, the sights on the EC9s are machined into the top of the slide and therefore are fixed making it cheaper to manufacture. Both the LC9s and EC9s list the finish as "Black Oxide". I suspect the slide is polished a bit more before the finish is applied but I'm just guessing. So, other than the sights they are the same pistol. The Max-9 looks like Ruger’s attempt to cash on on the higher round count micro 9mm market, like the Sig P365 and the Springfield Hellcat.
