The 30S is a 30SF frame with a slimmer slide (perhaps the 36's slide, I'm not sure). A regular 30 will have the regular width slide. Gen 4 means it will come with backstraps for the grip (I personally like the beavertail ones), better texture on the grip, three magazines, and a different recoil spring assembly (not necessarily better). 2.

The Gen3 G30 was discontinued four years ago. Only the G30SF and G30S remains in Gen3, in addition to the Gen4 G30.
