The first two proficiency points in Two Weapon Style significantly reduce the penalties for dual wielding- IIRC it's something like -4/-8 penalties to hit by default, -2/-6 with the first point in TWS, -0/-4 with the second point, and then -0/-2 with the third. *Usually* the third point isn't worth it, at least until quite late.

If you wanna dual wield two longswords, you need a feat for that. Consider short swords for a dual wield ranger. That way you can use DEX instead of STR and can use a bow for long range when needed with a lot better stats. There are lots of great short swords in the game, probably for Astarion and Wyll. On hit - Myrkulite Scourge + Cruel Sting Honorable mention to blood of lathander in this act, 2/3 of the enemies are undead*. Act 3. Crit Fishing - Crimson Mischief + Bloodthirst. With the Bhaalist armor and crimson mischief in main and bloodthirst in offhand this is the strongest dual-wielding item build in the game*.
