Past projects didn't fare well with regular oil based stains and I've picked up bits and pieces about using Rit Dye for staining as well as other dyes that may be mixed with denatured alcohol.2,747. TransFast and TransTint can both be used in water-borne finishes. TransFast is a bit more colorfast. TranFast is best used in water or borne finishes only.
