Like. I would start with the easiest fixes first. Try spamming the piss out of up shift, if that doesn't work then hold in the right brake lever and start the bike. It bypass whatever so you can start it in gear. After it starts, reverse a couple feet and then try shifting into neutral.

Had a mouse build a nest behind the battery and chew the wires on the sub-harness that goes to the fuel pump relay. It would still run but I still replaced the sub-harness.
